Prosecutor: Frenchtown Man Charged In SWAT Standoff

Authorities charged a 45-year-old Frenchtown man in connection with a barricaded incident Wednesday morning.

Shane P. Lawrence was charged with unlawful weapon possession and terroristic threats after a standoff with the Hunterdon County SWAT Team and local police at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Acting Hunterdon County Prosecutor Michael J. Williams said.

The incident near Milford Road was safely resolved shortly after, culminating in Lawrence's arrest.

Williams did not elaborate on the circumstances.

New Jersey State Police Kingwood barracks, the Holland Township Police Department, and Lambertville City Police Department responded to assist.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released when available.
